Gift Mphefu is the co-founder of Borwa Integrated Technologies. He has previously occupied senior management positions at Vodacom SA, Telkom SA, and Ericsson Sub-Saharan Africa and is currently the Chairman of Med-TechEngineers. He has over 13 years of solid technical and commercial experience within the ICT & Healthcare Technology Industry.
Gift is a Council Member of the South African Institute of Electrical Engineers (SAIEE), a Member of International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) SA Chapter, a Member of Clinical Engineering Association of South Africa (CEASA), and a Member of the Advisory Committee for The Innovation Hub Solution Exchange Project. He has a BSc Electrical Engineering (UKZN), Certificate Course in Wireless Telephony (UP) and Masters in Engineering (UP). Gift’s interests in Healthcare Informatics led him to enrol for a Post Graduate Diploma in Healthcare Technology Management at UCT.

Barry is the co-founder of Borwa Integrated Technologies. He is also the founder of Harmonic Group Computer Services (Pty) Ltd, one of the largest distributors of Datalogic. He started off with Standard Telephone and Cables in London as a COBOL Programmer. Later became a Sales Manager for Sharp Electronics. In 1986 he formed Harmonic Computer Services with the sole mandate of leading the AutoID marketplace.
Barry has a BSc Honours in Computer Science, Marketing Diploma and a registered member of PSIRA. He serves an an advisor for the Consumer Council of South Africa and SABS on matters regarding Bar Coding and RFID.

Borwa Integrated Technologies (Pty) Ltd was founded in March 2013 in Johannesburg and operates under Harmonic Group (Pty) Ltd which was founded in 1986. Itself as a pioneer in the then fledgling barcoding industry. Through the years, the Group has remained at the forefront of what has since become known as Automatic Identification and Data Capture (AIDC) or “Auto-ID” and its myriad applications across a range of industry sectors.
Auto-ID is about using technology to automatically identify objects, collect data about them, and enter that data directly into computer system without the need for human intervention. Among the Auto-ID technologies utilised by the Borwa Integrated Technologies in the development of its solutions for industry sectors ranging from agriculture to mining, retail to health, transport to local government (see some examples page 3-6) are barcodes, Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), biometrics and Optical Character Recognition (OCR), Smart cards and Voice recognition
